Magdalena Mong

Magdalena Mong was born in Tzaneen, Limpopo, on June 29 1981.  Her parents had a fruit farm in Tzaneen.  At the age of 5 they moved to Pretoria.From grade 1 until grade 12 she was in Garsfontein Primary and High School.  She took art classes at Jackie Theron Artschool in Garsfontein.She took a course in flower arrangements at Centurion College, and did flower arrangements fulltime for two years for special occasions, and did her painting part time.Her husband and family encouraged her to start painting full time.Magdalena paints under her maiden name “Mong” that comes from France.  Her married name is Bester.  She got married in April 2006.
